Germany is widely recognized as a pioneer in the implementation of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0). The term “Industry 4.0” was first coined at the Hanover Fair in 2011, and since then, Germany has been at the forefront of this new wave of innovation. As the world’s manufacturing powerhouse, Germany is widely reputed for producing high-quality, precision-engineered goods across various sectors, with focus on deep-tech. Manufacturing plays a vital role in the German economy, contributing significantly to its GDP and providing employment opportunities. Germany is renowned for its expertise in industries such as automotive manufacturing, machinery, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and engineering.

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organizing a Business Delegation on Manufacturing Excellence to (Stuttgart & Munich) Germany from 13-16 October 2025 (Monday, TuesdayWednesday and Thursday) with focus on advanced technology, sustainability, and supply chain resilience.

Key focus areas of the delegation:

  • AI & IoT Integration: Real-time data analytics for predictive maintenance
  • Sustainability: Net-zero energy plants and circular production models
  • Resilience: Agile supply chains using digital twins

 The objective of the delegation is to have an in-depth understanding of various aspects of advanced manufacturing learning from the experience of the companies which have adopted advanced technology to impact various aspects of their productions processes and systems, as we embrace our journey to manufacturing excellence.

In Stuttgart :

  • Mercedes-Benz / Factory 56 (Sindelfingen) – Model for digitized automotive production
  • Trumpf GmbH + Co. KG (Ditzingen) – Lighthouse Factory for advanced manufacturing & laser tech
  • Bosch Rexroth Smart Factory – Automation, IIoT, and smart systems
  • Fraunhofer IPA – Applied R&D in robotics, AI, and factory of the future

In Munich :

  • Siemens Stadt Square / Siemens AG – Urban tech innovation & sustainability lighthouse
  • BMW Group Plant Munich – Automotive digitalization & circular economy
  • UnternehmerTUM – Europe’s largest deep-tech incubator, hosted at TUM Campus

To cover the administrative cost, a nominal fee will be charged:

  • CII Member Companies: Rs 1,10,000 + 18% GST
  • Non-Member Companies: Rs 1,25,000 + 18% GST
