5 March 2026, Today, on the birth anniversary of my mentor Biju Babu, as I file my nomination for the Rajya Sabha as an Independent candidate with the support of the Bharatiya Janata Party, my heart is filled with emotion beyond words.
For me, 5th March has never been just a date on the calendar. It is a day that brings back memories, strength, guidance, and an overwhelming sense of gratitude. It is the day I remember the towering personality and a father-like figure to me who shaped not only Odisha’s destiny, but also my own journey in public life.
Standing at this important juncture today, I cannot help but feel his blessings. The ideals he instilled in me — courage in decision-making, commitment to Odisha above everything else, and the conviction to rise above narrow considerations — echo strongly in my heart at this very moment.
Biju Babu was a true statesman — beyond party lines and beyond ideology. He belonged to Odisha, and every Odia belongs to his legacy. His life was a message of boldness, self-respect, and fearless service. He dreamt of an Odisha that would stand tall with confidence, dignity, and pride.
That this significant step in my public life falls on his birth anniversary makes the moment deeply personal. It reminds me that public life is not about positions, but about purpose; not about power, but about responsibility.
With folded hands, I seek the blessings of the people of Odisha and especially the support of all who remain inspired by Biju Babu’s vision and legacy. Your trust and encouragement will strengthen my resolve to serve our State with sincerity, dedication and integrity.
On this sacred day, I bow in tribute to my mentor and renew my commitment to work tirelessly for the Odisha he envisioned.
