Letter from the Border

My dearest fellow Indians,

As I write this letter from the freezing front-lines, under the open sky and amidst the sounds of duty and danger, I don’t know if I will live to see another sunrise. But my heart is full — full of pride, full of purpose, and full of love for this soil we all call Bharat Mata.

I am just a soldier — one among thousands — standing guard so that you may sleep peacefully at night, so that our tricolour flies high without fear. I left behind my parents, my siblings, my dreams, and even my own future, not in sadness, but in honour. I chose the nation above all, not because I had to — but because I wanted to.

Every breath I take here is for you — for the farmer in the field, the teacher in the classroom, the doctor in the hospital, and the children playing in our streets. You are the reason I endure the cold, the hunger, the loneliness. You are the heartbeat that keeps me strong.

But I ask of you only one thing — never forget us.

Remember the names you may never hear, the faces you may never see, but who stood between you and harm. Live your lives with integrity, with unity, and with the passion to serve this nation in whatever way you can. Love India — not just with words, but with actions.

If this letter reaches you after I am gone, know that I went smiling. My blood has mixed with the dust of our land — and I live on in every breeze that touches the flag, every echo of the national anthem, and every heart that beats with pride for this country.

Jai Hind.

Yours eternally,
A Soldier of Bharat
One among many. Proud to be one.
