Vedanta Chairman Anil Agarwal meets Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi

In a major boost to Odisha’s industrial growth, Vedanta Group will invest around ₹1 lakh crore in the State, creating over 1 lakh direct and indirect employment opportunities. Vedanta Group Founder and Chairman Shri Anil Agarwal met Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhawan and discussed new industrial projects today, 23 October 2025 in the state capital Bhubaneswar. The plan includes a ₹2,000 crore ultra-modern Ferro-Alloys Plant in Keonjhar and two new Aluminium Parks — one at Jharsuguda and another at a site identified by the State Govt. Hon’ble CM said such massive investments will be a game-changer in Odisha’s journey towards becoming a $500 billion economy by 2036. Shri Agarwal’s today’s meeting is the second time after a year with CM Shri Majhi.

This is not the first meeting,  he has already met CM Shri Majhi after BJP formed new government in Odisha in 2024. Shri Anil Agarwal, Chairman, Vedanta Group, met Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, the newly-appointed Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, to extend his congratulations on the formation of the new government and to discuss the ongoing and future development of the state. During the meeting, Mr. Agarwal reiterated Vedanta Group’s unwavering commitment to Odisha’s progress. The discussion focused on identifying new areas of collaboration that could further accelerate Odisha’s transformative journey, enhancing the state’s industrial and socio-economic development.

In both the meeting, Odisha CM and Vedanta Chairman discuss shared vision to accelerate the state’s industrial and socio-economic growth.

Beyond business, Vedanta’s community development initiatives span livelihood, education, healthcare, infrastructure, grassroots sports and culture, benefiting more than 4.5 lakh people across 500 villages in Odisha.
